Praline Pumpkin Monkey Bread

Thanksgiving recipes are always the best. Not that we need to wait until Thanksgiving to indulge in all the warm, rich, spiced goodness that our favorite recipes hold. For those of us who simply can't wait, here's a recipe for Pumpkin Praline Monkey Bread using our own authentic New Orleans pralines.

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg

  • 1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice

Praline Topping

  • In a food processor, chop pralines until they are coarse chunks OR use praline coated pecans.
  • Distribute evenly into the bottom of the bundt pan along with 1/3 cup of melted butter.

Monkey Bread Coating

  • In small bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon of Pumpkin Pie Spice and Sugar.

Monkey Bread

  • Stir sugar into heated milk. Add yeast and set aside for about five minutes for yeast to activate.
  • Pour warm milk mixture into mixer with dough hooks.
  • Set aside flour, and add remaining monkey bread dough ingredients and mix.
  • Slowly begin to add flour until it has been fully added.
  • Turn mixer to medium-low speed and knead for about 4 minutes, or until dough no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.
  • Cover dough with plastic wrap and a towel and set aside in a dark, warm place for an hour to rise. The dough should almost double in size.
  • After the dough finishes rising, spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Take small sections of dough and roll to create a ball.
  • Roll each ball into the monkey bread coating and place into bundt pan.
  • When all dough is rolled, coated, and placed into bundt pan, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for another hour.
  • SUBSTITUTION: short on time? Substitute biscuit dough!
  • Place bundt pan on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until the top of the dough is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and cool for about 30 minutes.
  • Remove from pan and scrape any remaining praline topping from the bundt pan on the top of the monkey bread. Serve warm.

This is a perfect holiday or weekend breakfast or a lazy afternoon treat.
