Can’t decide if you want a sweet or salty snack? This inventive cookie recipe featuring the best pralines around are the best of both worlds! Crunchy, gooey, nutty, chocolaty, salty, creamy, and oh so delicious. These easy cookies are perfect to make for your loved ones.
- 1 stick of Butter, room temperature
- ½ cup, White Sugar
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 egg, room temperature
- ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
- ½ tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Hot Water
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1½ cup All-Purpose Flour
- ¼ cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
4 Aunt Sally’s Creole or Creamy Pralines
(Creamy pralines will give you gooey caramel chunks. Original will be crunchy like nuts.)
- 1 cup, Salted Potato Chips (like Lay’s, Kettle Brand, Utz), crushed
- Large Flake Salt
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and both sugars in a large bowl or stand mixer until it is smooth, creamy, and a consistent light brown color - about 5 minutes.
- Lightly beat the egg and add to sugar butter mixture. Beat for 10-15 seconds until you can no longer see yolk.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water and add to batter with vanilla. Mix 3-5 seconds until combined.
- Slowly add flour until combined. Do not overbeat.
- Chop the Aunt Sally’s Pralines into mini pieces. Add chocolate chips, Aunt Sally’s Pralines, and crushed potato chips to the batter. Mix until evenly dispersed – about 5-10 seconds.
- Roll into balls about 1 1/2in in diameter and place on a cookie tray with 2in of space in between. Sprinkle a few flakes of salt on top. You may need two trays or to bake in two batches. (Place dough in the refrigerator between baking batches.)
- Bake for 11 minutes until the edges are golden brown. If the cookies are slightly cracked on the edges and on top, that is ok. Remove from oven and let sit on the sheet for 1 minute before moving to a wire rack to cool.
