Steen’s was established in 1910 in Abbeville, Louisiana, about 150 miles west of New Orleans. Today Steen’s is one of the few family-owned cane-syrup facilities still operating in the country, and five generations later, the Mill still uses the original recipe. The steam equipment continues to make pure can syrup the old fashion way with an open kettle. Steen's products are loyally used by both home cooks and the most accomplished Louisiana chefs.
